Testing & Proof of Performance

Real-world demonstrations, certified lab testing, and in-house failure tests that show how openings fail — and how SuperMax-oriented systems are engineered to hold.

From 130 MPH comparison tests to impact velocities beyond typical residential criteria, CHPXL focuses on the kinds of failures that matter most in Florida’s 55+ and gated communities.

Testing & Proof

We don’t just claim performance—we demonstrate it through real-world tests, lab certifications, and destructive in-house testing, including configurations used on essential facilities such as Sarasota Memorial Hospital and maintenance hangars at MacDill Air Force Base.

130 MPH Two-House Failure Test

In a side-by-side demonstration, an unprotected home loses a door at 130 MPH. Wind-swept rain and air rush in, pressure spikes, and the structure rapidly collapses. The protected structure, with properly secured openings, remains intact.

We use these tests to demonstrate the importance of protecting large openings (Lanai, Front Entrance, and Garage Doors).

Florida Building Code Impact & Wind Tests

  • Large missile impact tests
  • Cyclic wind loading simulations
  • Frame, hardware, and fabric stress testing

We work with certified labs to validate performance to Florida Building Code standards.

In-House Failure & Abuse Testing

We run repeated impact, tension, and fatigue tests on our systems—and even test shutters we know will fail—to understand how and why products break so we can design ours not to.

Comparing failure footage with CHPXL systems under similar loads helps us refine every component in the system.

Signed Witness Panels: Documented Impact Velocities

Among our most valuable test artifacts are two SuperMax panels that were struck repeatedly during high-velocity impact trials. Each panel was signed by the vendors and dealers who observed the test, recording the impact speeds they witnessed—from roughly 50 ft/s up to 80 ft/s.

These signed panels represent the level of transparency and engineering rigor we bring to every CHPXL installation.

Why Rigorous Testing Matters for Insurance

With up to 50% of hurricane claims denied, documented protection and tested systems are more important than ever. Testing doesn’t guarantee coverage, but it gives you a stronger foundation if you need to prove your home was responsibly protected.
